All living organisms are in a constant state of change. There is no in-between: if you’re not growing, you’re atrophying. Since humans prefer homeostasis (read: being lazy), not making a conscious choice to grow is choosing to decay.
Thus, it is imperative to choose growth throughout your career. Whether you are taking a new job, getting a promotion, or learning a new skill, always be growing. Not only will you reap material benefits, you will be a happier person
Of course, you probably won’t die if you choose the path of career stagnation, but then this blog is not for you.
